Do You Qualify?

To qualify for government sponsorship of your tuition you must be unemployed, working part-time (less than 20 hours a week), or employed but not working at your level of skill and feel that small business would be a good option for you, and legally entitled to work in Alberta.
To qualify for income support (for up to six months) while you are enrolled in the program you must meet one of the following criteria:

• You are presently receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits;
• You were on EI within the past three years;
• You received EI Maternity/Paternity Benefits within the last five years;
• You are receiving Income Support from Alberta Works;
• You have limited sources of income while starting your business.

How to Apply

Applying is easy. Just call Microbusiness Training Centre Inc. and ask when the next orientation session is scheduled. At the orientation you will find out what you need to know about the program, how the funding works, and what you need to do to complete the application process.
